2006 Ford Escape 4wd/ABS check engine light help?

the two concerns are probably related. the 4wd/awd uses the rear speed sensors to engage. most cheaper obd2 readers won't do abs codes. make sure the one you rent does. more then likely one of your rear abs sensors or tone rings is bad.
