Preserving an insect? ?

waxy? you could boil wax in an open topped container and drop it in...but you could also refrigerate it...thats what my science teacher did when she found a dead hermit thrush in the school courtyard and wanted to show her cles...or you could refrigerate it until you find the answer you're looking for... hope I helped a little :)
