Want some information about BLOOD DONATIONS ......any one help me?

Since different places have different rules I can give you a brief idea. In the US 18 is the age limit & you need your ID when you donate.It is done after they take a brief history to make sure you are healthy enough & have no contagious diseases like hepatitis.They usually take a finger stick to make sure your hemoglobin is high enough. If everything looks OK, you lay on a stretcher & a nurse or lab tech will put in an IV needle & take out a pint of blood (no more at one time).It normally takes about 30 minutes & after they will give you some juice & check to make sure you don't feel dizzy or feel normal.Then you can go home.It's best for you to go with someone to drive you home after ( for safety only).The best way to find out where to go is to call the nearest hospital & speak to their laboratory for they usually know.
