How can a weak person in mathematics be good at pre-calculus/calculus?

So-far I'm getting through calc with the help of tutoring and busting my *** studying! ...If I could change something it would be my work load.. I should of cut down on a few cles, so I could take more time to understand the math or read the book a bit more..
