I recently moved from Texas to North Carolina. I am about to start college in the fall in NC, but this summer I would like to see everyone in TX again. I moved here because my mom is...well...a little off mentally. Now I live with my dad, but he does not want me back in TX right before college starts because of my mom's abusive nature. My friend really misses me as I do her and we both want to see each other again. I also have no fun trips planned and I would really like to do something as a big finish (so on July 5 we would be going to Warped Tou in Dallas). The problem arises because even though I just got a job, I do not have $300 saved for a plane ticket. Her mom offered to buy me one and is being adamant about doing so. I don't feel right about accepting the offer. What would you do?

It's because it's so out of tune, the tuner doesn't 'know' which string your plucking, it just tells you when your close to a note. I'd imagine your 3rd string needs tightening from f to g. Google online guitar tuner and the pitches should give you an idea when you're close.

My friend made me a t-shirt as an early Christmas present, one of those ones you make special online and have it delivered, so it's one of a kind. Me, being the darn klutz that I am, spilled something on it and didn't notice until it was too late. I think it's ketchup...( >__< joy..) The stain is already dry and here's the thing, it's a dye-sublimation t-shirt, meaning the words and picture on it are printed in the fabric itself. I'm afraid that if I try bleaching it or something, the picture will get ruined. Does anyone have any ideas for spot-cleaning dried on red stains? I need help standing up to my friend?

Weird Question about mice?

hi i have bred mice for a long long time maybe i can help. The best way to breed mice is with a set up of 1 male and 5 females in every cage. However even though this is the -best- setup it does not seem to be the right setup for you. I suggest that you keep your groups at a limit of one male and 3 females at most. Only use these cages for the breeding. Once a female has become noticably pregnant i suggest that you move her into a cage specifically for pregnant female mice. This way no males or non pregnant females can kill the babies. This will also increase your odds of the babies surviving because typically mice only eat their babies when they are stressed and male mice get stressed by being around pregnant female mice, as do non pregnant mice (not usually but sometimes) and when they are housed with pregos then they sometimes become so stressed that they kill the babies. One more point is that to breed mice succesfully you MUST have temps within five degrees of 77 and you must have at least 8 hours of light in the room they are in (this tricks their bodies into thinking they are outside so they breed). So overall keep the pregos in their own container, maintain temps to be near 77 degrees and allow them to have reasonable hours of light and dark times throughout the day. Good luck

BioShock 2 for PC Graphics?

I bought BioShock 2 on my PC after having played the original extensively (It's a great game), and so is this one. Except for the fact the the stupid graphics are terrible and i can't do anything about it (too my knowledge). By this I mean, the ant-aliasing is just... so bad. The weird thing is, Multiplayer and the original run and play better. I was thinking myself that it could be because I don't have DX10 high details turned on, but I have XP and it would super cheap of microsoft and 2K to make it so that you NEED DX10 for singleplayer to look good. My system specs are: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX, 1gb RAM, and some sort of really good processor that holds up my system, but most games run properly because it's a gaming specific computer, and is custom built. If you think upgrading the RAM would help (I want to anyways, 1gb isn't enough) or have any other suggestions, please tell me. Also, I just upgraded the Nvidia drivers, so that can't be it.

Carpenter Ant nest in bathroom, what should I do?

I'm still renovating my bathroom (I've recently asked a few questions) and I just found a huge nest (numbering AT LEAST 400) in the rotting plywood underneath the old linoleum by the bath tub and toilet. What should I do? I've sprayed a can of RAID and HOTSHOT (at two different times) and used a liquid directly on the exposed areas of the nest. So far, the nest is covering about 2 sq. ft of plywood, but it seems everywhere I chisel out chunks of plywood, there is a swarm of ants underneath, so dense that I can't even see what is underneath the plywood. How big are normal nests? How far do they expand? Do I need to rip up ALL the plywood in my house or is there another way to ensure that no ants remain? The house is about 18 years old and surrounded by wooded areas. For the past month since I've been home for college, I've been using bait traps because of a few ants I've noticed wandering around, but I've never expected to uncover anything, let along something of this size.

What is wrong with my fish?

We just added this goldfish to our tank 5 days ago. I put her in a hospital tank yesterday because something is wrong with her. At first sight she looked fine. Her body was a little oddly shaped but she didn't look damaged. After the second day I noticed she was not very active and sort of reclusive. By day three she was on the bottom of the tank all day, basically not moving at all unless it was dinner time. Also there were black spots on her scales like they fell off or something. I was adding Mela fix to the tank daily to treat another fish I had for some minor tail rot and thought maybe it was a weird reaction to that but after doing some research i know that is not it. I learned a little about swim bladder infections so I gave her a pea today. She ate some of it then sat back on the bottom of the tank and is not moving again. I also read about fish TB and was wondering if that could be it because of her crooked body? Also read a little about jungle parasite but couldn't find much on that. Could it be that? I know that laying at the bottom of the tank usually means swim bladder but the missing scales and the body shape is what is confusing me. Please help and thank you for your advice!

TOTAL blindness was no big deal for my ferret. Half blindness shouldn't throw him off at all. It's a pretty simple procedure and shouldnt take long at all, meaning less anesthetic. It was a LOT bigger deal to clear out the mucus and he went through it like a trooper :) Being bigger will also be a great help, as teeny tinies are a lot more sensitive. Make sure he has a good drink in the evening, but I wouldn't give it to him after that. You don't want him vomiting water under anesthesia. Oh, I would also make sure they use the same type of anesthesia that they did before since that particular one didn't bother him. Don't worry too much, your baby'll be fine

You can buy cfl's that are dimmable, however they are more expensive(at least $10 a piece) and they dont always dim as well as a normal bulb. You can put only a few bulbs in the fixture and leave the others empty. this will still not be dimmable though. You can have a dimmer switch for the switch, but you just have to remember to keep it all the way on, otherwise you'll get flickering which is bad for the bulb. You could also go to the measures the last guy said and rewire your fixture. It's not worth it though. I would say, if you really want cfl's and you really want to dim, buy the dimmables, they will pay for themselves. If you really want the best dimming, stay with incandescent. Use your cfl's in other sockets that dont dim or you don't really need to dim.

Ok, so verizon is super ridiculous with these data pkgs- i just upgraded my phone to the ONLY one where the data pkg is optional- the casio exilim. Let me tell you- this phone is a complete piece of crap. a $450 phone for $19.99? i know why. anyway, i got it yesterday, it worked for 3 hrs. and then completely died. Nothing to do with the battery- it was charged and it just died. its been almost 3 weeks now since i first met with my reserves recruiter. I called him up a week after I met him and asked him if i can have an interview set up for the Aeromedical Evac Squadron. My mom recently got her Census form in the mail, and she was sitting down to fill it out. She later came to my room and said that there were derogatory terms on the Census when referring to specific ethnic groups. She said for Hispanics there was "Chicano" down as an option, and for Blacks "*****" was an option. Now i have enough common sense to know that these are not politically correct terms for a specific ethnicity. Also, there wasn't a spanish version of the Census along with the english one. I'm thinking this Census is a plot to falsely show that whites are still the majority race in the US, and that they will not become a minority by 2050. Because if there wasn't a spanish version of the Census mailed, then that eliminates millions of Hispanics that cannot speak english at all, or it's their second language. Windows Vista is notorious for being buggy although it ran a lot faster than XP. If I were you, I would get Windows 7, legit or otherwise, because it's on the whole quicker. If you can't afford that, probably the most important hardware upgrade to make is just to get that extra 1GB of RAM to help clear the gap a little; 1GB really makes a difference in gaming. Don't waste money on a new processor or graphics card as if they're a few years old they'll be fine. RAM seems to wear down a fair bit over time in my experience so I'd reccommend upgrading.

Is the PSE Buckeye a good bow for beginners?

Maverik Wonderboy or Gravity?

I've been looking for a new shaft ever since my STX AXE C405 got dented and bent a good 20 degrees from hitting someone too hard. Looking at the two shafts, I've always wanted a Maverik. I wouldn't worry too much. I just got back from Oahu and if you have to have the flu I couldn't think of a better place to have it than the paradise that is Hawaii. I tried to get to the zoo before I left but it must have been school day at the zoo because there was a line all the way back to Lemon Street to get in so I just blew it off and went to the north shore for the day. Don't worry to much about it, they'll have the vaccine for it in a few weeks.

Tramadol dosent effect me?

I am the same way with traditional opiates and opioids. I take tramadol, and I love it, but it does not make me feel weird or "high." I can take 10 Vicoden and feel nothing. I can take tons of opiates and feel a slight buzz. I guess everyone is different.

Advice on a good vacuum for a pet home. ?

I need to know what is a really good vacuum for picking up dog hair off of carpets. I bought a Bissell in February,,it worked great for 1 week. Then I caught a shoelace in the roller/beater brush, then had to get a new beater brush from the company. Since then, it has not worked for even just regular cleaning let alone the dog hair. I have 2 er spaniels, that I groom every week, but there is still some hair on the carpets, and I am tired of having to clean the brush after doing only 1/2 a room! The hair sticks on the brush and does not go into the canister at all, so I have to pull it off the brushes after only doing a small part of the carpet. My OLD Hoover worked better than the new ones out now,,but they don't make them like the old Hoover anymore :-( I have both high plush carpets, and some low indoor/outdoor type. I am very discouraged,,thought Bissell was suppose to be a good one. Any help would be appreciated. Please, no stupid remarks. I have no time for them. Thanks.

I would say you're doing things right. One of my little dogs was abused when only a puppy and was left shut in a garden shed for the first few months of her life - the nervousness and timid behavious has never left her, even eight years on, and we're always aware of how things can stress her out so easily, so we try not to use raised voices around her (everyone has to have the odd argument though!) and we do our utmost not to startle her. She is so very well behaved though, so we've never really had to deal with correcting bad behaviour, other than she is very possessive when it comes to her toys, and smacking or any other dominance towards her has not had to be an issue. I think the firm voice and sending to the basket/cushion is the best way forward. Funny how they are out to please you - so they dont like the firm voice, seen as being told off and in bad books.

Cronic cluster headache, stiff neck, muscle knot?

Hello everyone, i am a 18 year old male and i have been suffering headaches almost everyday for 10months now, i can describe the pain as deep thuding most of the time, sumtimes sharp just left from my left eye around my temple, but 90 percent of the time its about 2 inchs up from my left temple.My headaches can last from 2 mins to 3-4 hours, nothing seems to bring on the headaches neither get rid of them also its usally afternoon time when i get them never suddenly after wakening, always feels better after a sleep, my doctor diagnosed my with Chronic Cluster headaches, i have been for a C.T just awaiting the results.3 weeks ago i started to suffer with neck stiffness, when i started to rub i noticed a very hard lump mabey the size of a marble just up/right from my left shoulder blade this is very tender to touch, but i think i could hardly notice this if i didnt touch it, just the stiff neck.Bearing in mind that i have had no other symptoms apart from the daily headache for 10 months the a gradual stiff neck and the muscle knot. I just wanted to know if there is any1 else here who has had the same problem, were the two symptoms combined, how did it work out? Thanks very much

Is buying a small v6 ford ranger a wise decision for saving on gas?

I had a 97 ranger with 3.0 in it with a 5 speed 4 wheel drive and over-sized tires and i still pulled 20 mpg with it. so ya a ranger would be a good choice. If you can try to get the 3.0 i have had alot better luck with them than the 4.0.

Help on Horse Training?

I have a black and white Tobiano APHA yearling Filly. Her registered name is Tuff Zippin Lux, and I'd like some advice to go about training her. She was imprinted at birth and she's practically bomb proof already, she bathes, loads, clips. You can lean over her back and put a surcingle on her with no problem at all. But when she goes to lounge she gets so stubborn! It's like once you get the lounge line on her and get her in the ring she's a whole different horse. She leads perfect and everything but I can't for the life of me figure out why she won't lounge quietly. She doesn't buck or rear, those aren't the problem, she just either plants her feet and pulls back on the lounge line or she just canters wildly in circles and refuses to listen to my body language and my commands. I've tried multiple methods and none seem to be working. She'll do other things for me, she'll give way to me, and when I'm leading her she listens and does everything I want her to. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Also I can't discipline her, I've tried giving her a firm hand and a gentle hand and when I give her a gentle hand she ignores me and a firm hand just increases her stubborn streak tenfold. Any advice on how to handle this kind of personality would be great, thanks!
