Does anyone else find it hypocritical for whites to invest in pre-civil rights memorabilia?

My English is not so good yet so I might be misunderstanding your use of the word "hypocritical." I was under the impression that a person is hypocritical when he does or says one thing that contradicts another. In this I do not understand how collecting such memorabilia is hypocritical, unless the person said before that he would not collect it.
