I stole something, I'm afraid of getting caught. What should I do?

I went to steal a pencil from a stationery shop this afternoon.. I regretted it, a lot. I am really scared that the police will turn up at my school, and bring me away tomorrow? I stole the pencil in front of the camera.. will people go and look at the recorded video, and hunt me down? After putting the pencil into my bag, I just walked out, and nothing happened. I went back to the shop for the second time to buy something, and still nothing happens. I'm really scared that the police will hunt me down. Please tell me if they will or not..I really regret my actions. The pencil costs $8.80
