uming that you do indeed have an infection i would advise that you continue taking the antibiotic..they can take a while to take effect,i would say that 4..5 days is more like a decent time period to start feeling some relief from the infection/if indeed it is an infection/it is important to complete the course of antibiotics for them to get on top of the infection and give you prolonged respite from the condition you have.given the pain you have around the eye and the swelling i suggest you go back to your doctor soonest and let him re examine you..chances are he will review your meds and hopefully come up with a more effective treatment for your condition..it does sound like you have congested sinuses which can be bothersome...you may well benefit from some eye drops which have local anaesthetic in them to relieve the discomfort you are having at the moment and maybe a short term course of steroids would be beneficial to you.get yourself to your docs first thing in the morning...
