What should I wear to an award ceremony?

I made a dress in art cl and it won in regionals in an art show where I live and is now going to nationals. I have to go to the award ceremony and I'm not really sure what to wear... My style is kind of J Crew, Ann Taylor Loft, American Eagle and Forever 21. I was thinking of waring a pink dress with black stocking, flats, and a cardigan. What do you think I should wear. Any opinions are really appreciated :)
